On this day Ukraine marks Protection of Our Most Holy Lady, the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks, as well as the anniversary of the creation of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.

We congratulate our defenders on these significant holidays.  But first of all those who forbid our borders at military training grounds, those who have gone through a real war, mothers and fathers of those who have fallen for the freedom of the Motherland.  We thank everyone and honor the memory of those we have lost.

We also congratulate those who uphold our peace and tranquility in the rear, who, with and without shoulder straps, protect and support the state and each of us.  May the universal grace of the Protection of the Mother of God accompany you on life’s paths, giving you peace, prosperity and harmony.

It is a holiday of memory and a festival of faith, a festival of patriotism and unity of spirit.  So let us be strong, be wise, and be united in our desire to love and defend our country!
