Driving school for persons with disabilities was launched at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs in Kropyvnytskyi.
The Rector of the University Serhii Vitvitskyi spoke about the peculiarities of an inclusive institution during a radio interview with UA: Ukrainian radio Kropyvnytskyi 91.2 FM.
According to him, Kropyvnytskyi is one of five cities in Ukraine where the project “Driving school for persons with disabilities” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is being implemented with the support of partners within the First Lady’s Olena Zelenska nationwide initiative “Without barriers”.
The strategic goal of the driving school is to provide high quality training for drivers of vehicles of category “B” in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation, as well as the implementation of social function of teaching persons with disabilities and combatants to drive vehicles.
“All interested persons can get a driver’s license. The driving school employs highly qualified teachers and instructors who provide training in accordance with inclusivity norms. The school is equipped with special vehicles. Persons with disabilities and wounded military will be able to undergo retraining and acquire new driving skills. We are open to everyone,” Serhii Vitvitskyi said.
In addition to Kropyvnytskyi, the pilot project is being implemented in Kyiv, Dnipro, Kamianets-Podilskyi and Lviv.
