At the initiative of the MHP-Gromadi Foundation and MHP-Vinnytsia Poultry Farm, the ICF “Assistance to Victims of Road Accidents” specialists conducted the “Safe Way to Home” training for students of lyceums №1, №2, №3 and №4 in Ladyzhyn city and for gymnasiums in the villages Olianytsia and Chetvertynivka of the Trostianets town community.

Inna Olifirenko, Vasyl Briantsev and Tetiana Novikova, the instructors of the “Safe Way to Home” project, invited children on three locations. On the first one, students repeated the general traffic rules, while the Foundation’s instructor Vasyl Briantsev focused on the rules of behavior for cyclists. On the second location Tetiana Novikova told the children about the importance of adding reflective elements when walking in the dark. At another location, the young road users learnt how to provide premedical care, trying to practice such skills with the help of instructor Inna Olifirenko. The students were particularly interested in this training: they had a lot of questions and clarifications, a great desire to practice the technique of providing assistance on a dummy…

Children received reflective tapes as a gift, and educational institutions received “Safe Way to Home” manuals and sets of reflective belts. Most importantly, young road users have learnt important life safety rules and will feel confident on the streets and the country’s roads.

“A modern road user must not only know the rules but also understand how to act in unusual situations. Such events, conducted by qualified professionals using special equipment, give children the opportunity to learn important knowledge and skills in an accessible and interesting way. This is an investment in the safety of every road user, because today’s students will become adult drivers, pedestrians and cyclists tomorrow,” said Olena Kandyba, director of the lyceum №4 of Ladyzhyn city.

ICF “Assistance to Victims of Road Accidents” is grateful for fruitful cooperation to MHP-Gromadi Foundation experts and MHP-Vinnytsia Poultry Farm. Two stages of the joint project for educational institutions in Vinnytsia region have already taken place within this cooperation. More than 280 students have gained theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Next year, the program will continue and core even more educational institutions.

We also invite educators to use the online training platform for professional development of teachers “We Know and Act”, as well as to use thematic videos on the basics of road safety developed by the International Charitable Foundation “Assistance to Victims of Road Accidents”. Information about these projects can be found on this website in the sections: “We Know and Act, “Unified National Lesson”, as well as YouTube channel «Безпечна країна» (“Bezpechna kraina”)
