A round table on the launch of the 2nd stage of Road Safety Week in Ukraine was held on November 13 at the “UKRINFORM” news agency, involving the representatives of relevant government departments and structures, transport industry specialists and public representatives.
The organizers of the event were State Enterprise “Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine” of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (Kyiv Interregional Branch), the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the International Charitable Foundation “Assistance to Victims of Road Accidents”.
As the Director of the separate division of the “Kyiv Interregional Branch” of the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine” of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Yurii Chornyi noted during his speech, the 2nd stage of the Road Safety Week in Ukraine will continue the topic of the 7th Global Road Safety Week, dedicated to rethinking mobility and creating comfortable and safe conditions for all road users. Despite the fact that Ukraine continues to overcome the difficulties related to the war, unfortunately, the problem of road injuries remains relevant. That’s why the events of the Week which will take place from November 13 to 19 in different regions of the country aimed at improving the situation with road accidents.
“We are very grateful to the regions and communities that have responded to spread the social advertising on safe transport and road behavior “Safe Country through the Eyes of Children” in the media, transport, outdoor advertising, public places, educational and cultural centers, educational institutions. These videos and photos were created by children themselves within the All-Ukrainian photo and video works competition “Safe Country”. In addition, the social advertising “Safe Country through the Eyes of Children” will be shown at “Kyivpastrans” and “Kyiv Metro” platforms. We thank everyone who supports the Road Safety Weeks in Ukraine and promotes safe road behaviour”, said Yurii Chornyi.
In addition to the events taking place in the country within the Road Safety Week, during the round table, experts in the field of transport and infrastructure discussed legislative initiatives on road safety; changes and innovations in transport safety, passenger and cargo transportations; improving road safety and the condition of road and infrastructure facilities, restoration of damaged ones; the statistics of road accidents and control over compliance with traffic rules; operation of Service Centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in conditions of martial law.
