JUNE 14 – WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY. THANK YOU, DONORS!
World Blood Donor Day takes place on June 14th all over the world. The initiators of its holding international organizations World Health Organization, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent, International Federation of Blood Donor Organizations and International Society of Blood Transfusion in this way honour the invaluable gift of people who give blood voluntarily and for free to save the lives and health of others and also seek to draw attention to the importance of blood donation all over the world and to encourage people to join the ranks of donors that are still remain the only source to receive blood and to replenish blood stocks. In 2022 World Blood Donor Day, on the initiative of WHO, will be held under the slogan «Donation as an act of solidarity. Become donors and save lives».
Since the beginning of its activity, International Charitable Foundation «Assistance to Victims of Road Accidents» has been active in supporting blood donation around the world and in its popularization and development in Ukraine. Twice a year within the framework of nationwide charity campaign «Give blood – save lives» in Ukraine, under the auspices of the Foundation, it is collected more than a thousand litres of blood and its components, which are primarily used to save children and adults who suffered in road accidents. Our goal is not only to close the need for blood for this category, but also to encourage more people, especially among youth to become donors. Especially now, when the war is in the country, and the necessity in certain blood types is colossal, every drop of donated blood is the price of life.
On this day we would like to express special thanks to our regular donors – employees of the Patrol Police, Police Protection, the Judicial Protection Service, the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety in all regions that not only willingly join to our campaigns, but also selflessly respond and donate blood in case of critical needs.
There is no price for noble cause of donation. On this day, millions of people owe their lives to those they may not even meet – to donors who donated their blood voluntarily and without any rewards. We highly appreciate the contribution and the social role of everyone who took part in the mission of donation. We sincerely wish them sound health, enthusiasm and generous gifts of fortune.
