As part of the national project “Safe Country”, which is implemented jointly by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the International Charitable Foundation “Assistance to Victims of Road Accidents”, as well as with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on September 22, 2021 on the basis of Putrivsky educational institution there was a training on life safety.

The training for pedagogical workers of Kyiv region – participants of the pilot project on approbation of the State standard of basic secondary education, which is part of the reform “New Ukrainian School”, and for 5th grade students of Putrivsky educational institution was conducted by certified specialists of the Foundation.

For educators, a training course on home care was conducted in accordance with the approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine program for training non-medical workers of the first level with the issuance of appropriate certificates, and for schoolchildren in the form of games was conducted a methodical lesson involving patrol and juvenile police. In particular, safe behavior on the streets and roads, rules of traffic and use of reflective elements, algorithms for responding to accidents with victims and mastering the skills of home care, prevention of bullying, cyberbullying and other forms of violence in educational institutions.

The knowledge acquired by teachers in these safe areas is extremely necessary to maintain a safe inclusive environment in educational institutions, the acquisition of civic and social competencies and can be implemented in social and health education, in the course of both educational and afterhours activities with children.

The proposed tools to increase the competencies of educators will achieve the goal of creating a safe educational environment – to teach students, parents, employees of educational institutions the rules of safe behavior, skills to avoid potential risks and dangers, timely and competent assistance to those who need it.

Similar trainings are planned to be held during the year in other schools of Ukraine on testing the standard.
