The only national lesson
on road safety
“Safe way to home”

Dear pedagogical workers!

The International Charitable Foundation “Assistance to Victims of Road Accidents” together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine offers a textbook for the only National Road Safety Lesson, which is held in secondary schools as part of the Road Safety Week in Ukraine, as well as a series of educational and explanatory videos.

Training manual “Safe way to home” shows the rules of behavior of pedestrians (extracts from the law), provides recommendations for the use (wearing) of reflective elements for road safety – a new rule recently introduced into law, and also the basics of life, health and property insurance in a language accessible to children. The manual is recommended for use in secondary schools road safety lessons, educational activities to promote and educate children on safe behavior on the road.

The video materials for the lesson covers various aspects of road safety that children should be aware of: road signs, rules of conduct for pedestrians, use of public transport and personal electric transport, some mandatory requirements for children as road users, the procedure in case of car accident on road. The format of short instructive videos is easy to understand, the heroes of these videos are children. On the example of specific situations shown in the video, you can explain to children certain safety rules. It is worth noting that this format is also convenient for the remote learning.

Most of the thematic videos selected for this lesson were prepared by the children within the framework of the annual all-Ukraine competitions among children and youth “Safe Country”. Maybe some of the children will recognize their works here.

We wish everyone to have interesting useful lessons and safe roads!
