According to the 2019 statistic of National Police of Ukraine, 3,454 citizens died in road accidents, 32,736 – were injured. See detailed  statistics.

The total number of accidents in the past year was 160 675, which is 7% more than in the previous 2018. The main causes of traffic injuries are:

• speeding;
• violation of rules of maneuvering;
• violation of traffic rules intersection;
• non-compliance with the distance;
• driving in alcohol condition;
• violation of pedestrian crossings.

In total, 4,656 accidents involving children occurred in Ukraine in 2019, which is 7.6% more than in 2018. 4 435 children were injured, 164 children were killed.
