II International Congress on Transport Safety took place in Ukraine this year in online format
On November 10, 2020, as part of the All-Ukraine Road Safety Week, the annual II International Congress on Transport Safety was held in online format this year.
Specialists of relevant state bodies and structures – the Ministry of Infrastructure, the State Agency for Infrastructure Projects, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety, the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau, the Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine of the Ministry of Health, the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, and representatives of the Donetsk Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, KP “Kyiv City Center for Traffic Management”, International Charitable Foundation “Assistance to Road Accident Victims”, scientists, experts were involved in the discussion of the most pressing issues in the transport industry and ways to improve road safety in the country.
The event was organized by the International Charitable Foundation “Assistance to Victims of Road Accidents” in cooperation with the Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Motor Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine.
During the Congress, six thematic panels were presented, the participants of which discussed a number of issues related to the formation of state policy in the field of road safety.
In particular, it was about improving the safety management system, the need to adopt a number of laws and regulations in this area, implementation of European standards in our legislation, training of professionals working in the field of road safety, as well as managers and specialists whose activities associated with the provision of road transport services. Among the topics of discussion were also the development of transport infrastructure, ways to improve the quality and safety of passenger and cargo transportation in Ukraine, reducing the level of accidents in transport, innovations in the insurance transport market, medical aspects of road safety and more.
