A nationwide road safety lesson was held in the Ukraine’s schools

As part of the 6th Global Road Safety Week, the country’s national road safety lesson, Safe Way to Home, was held. The event was initiated by the International Charitable Foundation “Assistance to Victims of Road Accident” in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

During this week, children were reminded of the rules on the streets and roads, on rail transport, rules of conduct for pedestrians and passengers when using public transport, compliance with traffic rules by cyclists, scooter riders, owners of popular personal electric vehicles, the use of child seats in cars, reflective elements in the dark, helmets and other protective equipment when riding bicycles, motorcycles, other important things that children need to know and remember.

In order to prepare for the lesson on road safety, the International Charitable Foundation has developed a special manual for teachers, as well as selected a number of thematic videos that can be used when working with children. You can get acquainted with them on our website in the section SINGLE NATIONAL LESSON, videos are also posted on our YouTube-channel “Safe Country”. These materials can be used not only during road safety weeks, but also at any time during classes on the basics of life safety, thematic educational hours and other educational activities on this topic.

ЧMany events dedicated to road safety in secondary schools this week took the form of flash mobs, quizzes, contests, lectures, workshops, photo challenges, open lessons, presentations, etc., with the involvement of school police officers, local representatives and communities caring for the topic.

Education of conscious citizens, law-abiding road users begins in childhood. Adherence to basic road safety rules will help save the lives of our children, and the knowledge and skills gained will hopefully prevent thousands of injuries and deaths on the roads in the future.
